Powder coating has long been known for its ability to make coated parts impervious to the elements. At Ace Anodizing we understand that the durability of the coating is only as good as the application method. That’s why this fabricator came to us with this large scale powder coating project. The components, which were fabricated from aluminum, were to spend their service life on a building roof protecting equipment.

The customer had specific requirements for the coating, such as the application of a chromate corrosion primer and a fluro-polymer custom color, all of which were necessary to guarantee the coatings performance. They also had specific requirements for packaging to protect the parts through shipping and rigging to the rooftop installation. Our ability to powder coat and oven cure large parts allowed us to powder coat each of the eight 108″ x 96″, heavy gauge aluminum panels in five days.
